Overview

The Pictsweet Company is growing! We are currently looking for experienced forklift operators to join our vegetable processing facility in Bells, TN. Successful candidates will have excellent attendance, strong work ethic, and the material handling skills needed to produce quality branded products in a fast-paced, safe, and clean environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate an electric or propane forklift.
  • Ensure accurate product procurement and placement of all product.
  • Work in a freezer environment (extreme cold to –15F degrees).
  • Complete appropriate forms and paperwork.
  • Conduct accurate inventory counts.
  • Trains to Pictsweet Food Safety and GMP procedures and complies with requirements.
  • Operate assigned PKMS duties; bar code scanning, operate computer, following directions.
  • Complies with attendance guidelines.
  • Follows personnel safety procedures.
  • Properly conducts pre-shift forklift inspection and completes forklift inspection sheet.
  • Able to stack product bins, up to 25 feet high, in a safe and neat manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must pass Pictsweet’s forklift certification program.
  • Achieve satisfactory assessment score for forklift drivers.
  • Successfully pass minimum 20/40 vision test.
  • Must work in extreme cold temperatures (-15 degrees) for extended periods of time, moving or counting product, or performing other duties, in a refrigerated warehouse.*
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.*
  • Must be able to stack bulk bins (up to 5 bins) safely with forklift.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed (including weekends and holidays).

 

*As determined by “fit for duty” assessment by medical professional.

 

**A forklift skills interview must be completed before we can discuss shift, pay rate or department.
