Experience:
- Must have at least two (2) years general mechanical experience, preferably with farm-related mechanical maintenance of equipment.
- Completion of appropriate vocational/agricultural technical school training may be substituted for years of experience.
Cognitive & Psychological:
- Demonstrate ability to read signs and basic instructions.
- Demonstrate basic mathematical reasoning ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Demonstrate an understanding of mechanical systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, engines, compressors, electrical) related to machine harvest. This knowledge is typically acquired through a vocational or technical school program.
Physical:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Successfully pass minimum 20/40 vision test.
- May work in extreme weather conditions (heat, rain, humidity, dry, dust).
- Must be able to stand, lift, bend, and walk for an extended period.
Other:
- Must have a valid Class D driver license.
- Must be willing to work extended hours as needed (including weekends and holidays).
- Must be willing to travel for harvesting operations for 2-3 week intervals.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish is a plus.
- Must develop a thorough understanding of mechanical systems of equipment used by Machine Harvest.
