Overview

2nd Shift:  3:50pm to 2:30am

 

Responsible for inspecting products at various stages of the production process and compiling statistical data needed to comply with federal regulations and label specifications in order to maintain quality and reliability of products. 

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain blend ratios of product in production.
  • Check package weights, calculate average weights, accumulative averages, ranges and graph results.
  • Daily prepare paperwork for all quality checks and maintain lab area and paperwork in an orderly and accurate fashion.
  • Obtain and understand all package, case, and code information for all labels and accurately record information.
  • Check quality and grade of bulk and bulk pre-blend items prior to use in production.
  • Conduct periodic checks during production process, including metal detectors, magnets, net weights, finished product, codes, product temperatures and overall package quality.
  • Monitor and record foreign material findings.
  • Initiate "HOLD" procedure for placing product on hold with accuracy.
  • Daily ensure that employees adhere to plant safety, sanitation, and GMP standards.
  • Communicate instructions with line leads and machine operators concerning adjustments and final packaging.
  • Conduct Micro testing/ATP swabbing as instructed by Q.A. Manager or Food Safety Technician I.
  • Inspect lines prior to start up for sanitation. 
  • Assist in repack duties as necessary to maintain optimum production levels.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP’s, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be able to read or interpret documents such as safety rules/ signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.   Attention to detail is critical.  Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Must have basic mathematical skills. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Stand for prolonged periods.
  • Work effectively in cold environment for up to 10 hours.
  • Climb and descend steep stairs to the hoppers or mezzanine.
  • Bend, stoop, and crouch on a regular basis.
  • Consistent repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, fingers, and shoulders.
  • Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and quality of assigned work.
