Overview

The Pictsweet Company is growing!  A 4th generation family owned company established in 1945, Pictsweet is a frozen vegetable producer with agricultural roots. We are recruiting Forklift Warehouse Specialists - Level 1 at Pictsweet's manufacturing facility in Clarksville, AR.

 

The Forklift Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for operation of electric and/or propane powered forklifts equipped with lifting devices to move raw and/or finished product.This is a safety sensitive position. This role ensures all safety systems are in place for the production of quality food products manufactured under clean and safe conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with government agencies and internal standards, including but not limited to, FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HARPC, GMPs, Housekeeping, Allergen Segregation, etc.
  • Know and observe safety, security, quality, sanitation and personal hygiene required.
  • Assist with accurate accounts of all materials in and out of warehouse and correct physical inventory of all items stored.
  • Works closely with facility personnel to ensure that Pictsweet produces food that is safe, legally complaint and of high quality.
  • Receiving of all raw materials including, but not limited to, raw potatoes.
  • Proper storage of inventories following FIFO.
  • Performs daily inspections of forklift unit and reports any malfunctions.
  • Positions forks, lifting platform (or other lifting device) under, over, or around pallets, skids, bins, materials, etc., and transports load to a designated area.
  • Unloads and stacks load by raising and lowering device.
  • May inventory materials in receiving area, in cool room storage, or on work floor.
  • Loads or unloads product onto or off pallets, skids or lifting device.
  • Ensures battery is charged, and properly handled.
  • Maintains work areas clean, organized and neat.
  • Verification for COA on ingredients, raw material, etc.
  • Will don personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work.
  • Follows all safety guidelines set forth by the Company.
  • Assists other departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum six (6) months  experience operating a forklift in an industrial setting perferred.
  • Requires a high level of alertness and concentration while performing safety-sensitive task.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) helpful but not required.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiple, divide).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence, motivate, and lead within a team environment.
  • Must be able to endure prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, walking on hard surfaces, reaching, and lifting.
  • Requires repetitive motion with arms and hands.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be self-motivated, reliable, and maintain excellent attendance.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, non-climate-controlled areas, and/or a refrigrated packaging environment.
