Overview
Runs errands in connection with procuring goods/services and receives, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials and equipment in industrial establishment.
Responsibilities
Receives written or verbal purchasing agent’s orders for goods and services.
Assists purchasing agent source/procure items to fill purchase orders.
Drives company vehicle to purchase or exchange equipment, tools, parts, and/or supplies.
Uses independent judgement in selecting which specific item will best satisfy facility’s needs.
Picks up, loads onto company vehicle, and delivers spare replacement parts, equipment, and expendable items used in facility to plant site.
Checks articles picked up against invoices and records factors causing equipment, tools, parts or supplies to be exchanged or returned.
Ensures accuracy of invoices prior to signing.
Maintains daily activity log of stops, items purchased or picked up, etc.
Services vehicle driven, such as checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel.
Performs minor clerical work, such as filing, data entry, etc.
Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
Receives, unpacks and stores incoming tools and equipment and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to manager.
Repairs, services and lubricates tools and equipment.
Delivers tools or equipment to workers.
Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
Maintains Tool Crib clean and organized as per schedule.
Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: One year experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Computer literate
Ability to operate calculator, copier, fax and laminating machine
Class C Drivers’ License required
Ability to obtain Forklift Certification
Ability to multitask
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
