CARO or CIRO

Operation, trouble-shooting, and repairing of ammonia refrigeration system equipment/machinery as per the Standard Operating Procedures and other approved industrial standards.

Hourly Rate is $31.25 - $38.50 DOE

1. Operates the refrigeration system compressors, defrosts systems, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, motors and other controls as needed.
2. Operates and maintains the facility steam boilers, auxiliary steam equipment and water treatment system.
3. Maintain screw compressors.
4. Repairs valves, fans, pumps, conveyor belts, air compressors, water systems, boiler systems and other related components as needed.
5. Operates the systems by observations of gauges, instrumentation, liquid levels, temperatures, and pressure systems as needed.
6. Repairs and replaces refrigeration components as needed.
7. Logs and keeps records of pressures, temperatures, gas, and water meter readings as needed.
8. Performs Preventive Maintenance on all related refrigeration equipment as requested and required by the Process Safety Management program.
9. Operates the ammonia refrigeration system in a safe manner as required by the Process Safety Management Program.
10. Follows all safety guidelines set forth by the Company.
11. Maintains work areas clean, neat and organized.
12. Assists other departments.
13. Will don personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Forklift experience a plus.

• Vocational training preferred.
• RETA certification preferred.
• Formal training may be required
• Must have basic industrial maintenance experience
• Must have demonstrated experience in performing basic electrical functions.

• Knowledge of hydraulics a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

1. Ability to read in English and interpret documents such as safety rules/signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.

OTHER:

1. Must be able to work 8 – 12 hr. shifts, 6 – 7 days a week (including weekends and holidays).
2. Must be able to work rotating shifts.
3. Knowledge in safely using power tools, hand tools, and other tools related to the operation of ammonia refrigeration.
4. Ability to obtain Pictsweet forklift certification.
