Overview

The Packaging Material Coordinator is responsible for maintaining inventory of all packaging materials, ordering as required and assuring material availability for production. Follow all prescribed procedures for reporting and recording daily usage and inventories of all packaging materials.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily paperwork for next day and previous day packaging material usage.
  • Receive any inbound packaging material/cases and prepare all documentation required.
  • Prepare all outbound packaging materials for shipment and all documentation required.
  • Order corrugated cases/packaging materials for future usage.
  • Keep the packaging material and dry warehouse neat, clean and well organized.
  • Estimate case usage requirements for the following week.
  • Cycle count packaging materials and cases, and adjust inventory.
  • Prepare daily packaging need for repack lines, and store previous day surplus.
  • Return all products to their assigned location, account for usage, while documenting and then updating PKMS.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP’s, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.
  • Create packing material reports.
  • Review Schedule and adjust according to needs.
  • Operate forklift to load and unload materials.
  • Maintain positive relationships with outside agencies.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and immediately report safety issues.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Follow all safety guidelines set forth by company and plant policies and managers.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP’s, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience with automated systems (i.e. ERP, data base management of inventory, tracking, and retrieval, PKMS system control parameters). Must be computer literate; possess knowledge and experience with computers and data entry procedures. Strong English language skills, including clear verbal and written communication. Must be able to read or interpret documents. Attention to detail is critical. Must maintain forklift certification.
